I have had the pleasure of working with Penny on multiple projects over the last few years. Penny shows a complete understanding of residential developments from the brief right through to construction and completion. Her understanding of demographics makes for the most functionally designed homes. An appreciation for the budget set’s Penny apart; she carefully considers her clients vision, without making compromises on the outcome of the design.
Penny clearly stays up-to-date with design trends and is always suggesting new ideas. I look forward to the next project working with Penny.
We were lucky enough to work with Penny over a 6 year period across two major renovations - the first which unexpectedly (but luckily in the end) fell through and the second a 1910 double-fronted Edwardian home, where only the weatherboard façade was maintained and we undertook a completely new build extending to the rear and adding a second storey.
Right from the outset Penny interpreted our brief and vision for creating a functional, timeless family home. We knew straight away Penny was the right fit and aligned to our vision. Having a young family of her own, she really grasped the functional needs of a busy young family. Penny has a very personal yet practical approach and also a great technical ability which was such a bonus - eg Penny managed a lot of our spatial planning (room layouts) and not only designed all of our cabinetry throughout but provided the CAD drawings which made working with the cabinetmakers a far more straightforward process. The interior FF&E design schedule also curated by Penny was spot on aligned to our tastes and budget - she took the hard work out of the selection process and always presented a range of options that were on brief and within budget.
The end result is a beautiful family home where we would not change a thing! We have sung Penny's praises to many friends embarking on a similar journey. Penny is a sanity saving - marriage saving - time saving, interior wizard! We wouldn't hesitate in working with Penny again knowing how valuable her services are in taking the hard work out of the interiors and making the whole process less overwhelming . Absolutely worth the investment. Thank you Penny!

Penny Wheeler has worked with me on several of my projects; she produces great concepts, is conscious of our budget constraints and produces a great outcome. Keep up the good work. - Sam Opat.
Having worked with Penny and her team on our extensive home renovations, we now look back and thank our lucky stars that we had the opportunity to work with someone as talented and professional as Penny Wheeler. Frankly, the ‘minor renovations’ turned into a major exercise, and by the time the house had been gutted – we realized that our basic plans for the home were nowhere near what was required to get the result we wanted.
Because we’re both running businesses, undertaking a renovation of this scale meant that we only had the time to provide photo references and a basic theme. Penny’s brief was for her and her team to use the mountain of references that were provided, in an effort to deliver a complete interior for us (including both finishes and internal spaces). We understood what we wanted – but could not have imagined the amount of time and effort required to get it right. Penny was fantastic!!
With a basic brief and a little free-reign, we have ended up with a home that is absolutely perfect for us… The ideas that Penny implemented have become talking points for guests – without being over-the-top or unlivable (which was the feeling we got from other Interior teams we spoke with). Importantly, Penny June also provided excellent value. We spoke with a number of companies but the quality of work and attention to detail they offered was never even close to what we received from Penny June. Penny’s experience in working on top-end commercial work shines through.
We would recommend, without hesitation, Penny and her team at Penny June. In-fact, we were so impressed by the tireless work she had done for our home (and the great result she achieved), that we’ve engaged her on a number of commercial projects – naturally with great results.
Highly recommended. - James Scuderi and Jenna Spence
Penny came to my rescue quite late in the process of renovating my Californian Bungalow, it was not ideal for a designer, but she was outstanding from our first meeting. Penny’s attention to detail was impressive, her style and gentle advice invaluable. Whilst Penny clearly stays up-to-date with design trends, she was also open and encouraging to ensure that my home reflected my personality, appreciating the importance of colour to me. Not only did she help me to re-design my kitchen, making it both more functional and beautiful, she designed my dream floor to ceiling wall bookcase and gave me the confidence to add bold colour to my rooms. Most recently she has helped me to redesign my home office a space I spend a lot of time in. Her access to suppliers and products was impressive and assisted me to keep within budget. My love my new office, it is both functional and elegant. Thank you so much Penny! Susan Welling
We first met with Penny about 12 months before our builder commenced. After listening to what we liked, Penny brought focus to the interior design, which is essentially an Australian version of ‘modern French provincial’.
This tied together the elements we wanted to keep (original brick period façade, ironwork and an assortment of period and antique furniture), whilst bringing the structural plans to life with well-designed cabinetry, a unifying colour scheme, quality floor coverings, window treatments and light fittings.
Penny’s design input was invaluable in bringing about a successful 7-month renovation of our two storey double brick house, on time and within budget.
As a complement to Penny’s advice, friends have copied our colour scheme in their own homes. Penny was always organised and well prepared. We would happily work with her again if the need arose and have recommended her to friends.
