Incorporating the original features of this inner Richmond weatherboard worker’s cottage frontage brought a taste of the original home into this modern renovation. Through the building process high ceilings were uncovered to the original areas and a second story was added which totally transformed this once compact home into a well-functioning space for this young family. Our brief was to design a timeless, light filled, functional home. We achieved this with natural oak floors, textured earthy tiles and by of bringing light into the home through the clever use of highlight windows and skylights.
